Authorities have detained a second individual in connection with the shocking double homicide in the municipality of Mazarrón after dismembered bodies of two Ecuadorian men were uncovered.
The latest arrest took place in the town of Alcantarilla, marking a significant development in the investigation that is now two months old.
According to sources, the victims – both of Ecuadorian origin – were found in a property in advanced stages of decomposition. Evidence suggests that the occupants had not lived in the house in the normal way, raising suspicions about how the crime unfolded.
Investigators from the Guardia Civil have not ruled out further arrests, as the complexity and brutality of the crime suggest multiple people may have been involved.
